Why corporate Pilates for your company?
There are many health benefits to participating in pilates. Pilates improves improves flexibility, balance, and posture and can help with back pain and joint stiffness associated with working at a desk all day. By providing these classes to your team you are showing that you care for their health and well-being, and the result is happier and healthier staff in your workplace!
Who would benefit from a pilates class?
People who find themselves feeling stiff and sore when they get up from their desk, those who can’t seem to find time to exercise after work, or anyone who is feeling a little stressed and needs to learn a way to clear the mind and relax.
What would you say to someone thinking of taking a pilates class for the first time?
Don’t feel like you need to have done a pilates class before to be able to participate in a corporate class. Our instructors are used to working with both beginners and experienced participants and are great at making sure everyone understands what to do. Just make sure you let the instructor know it’s your first time.
Am I too old to start doing pilates?
It’s never too late to start. You need to have a general level of health to participate and we always recommend speaking with your GP if you have any health concerns, but our classes are tailored to the participants and can be adapted to work around any injuries or issues you may have.
Do I need to prepare for a pilates class?
No. You can walk into a corporate pilates class with absolutely no experience or preparation. The beginning of each class is always a warm-up, to get you ready for the main part of the class.
What should I wear/bring?
Dress comfortably and wear clothes that are easy to move in. We recommend bare feet so that you don’t slip on your mat. Bring your own yoga/exercise mat and some water.
I’m not very flexible…I can’t even touch my toes!
That’s not a problem. There are progressions for all levels of flexibility in the class. You do not have to be able to touch your toes, although we do hope that you will eventually be able to do so if you participate regularly.
